C# and Web Forms Fundamentals

I am developing a course curriculum to teach the basics of both C# and .NET to software developers that are new to the language and framework. My goal is to fill in the gaps in my knowledge as well as educate eager developers.

In this course, I will cover:

  • Object Oriented Programming
  • The Basic Structure of a C# Application
  • Basic Syntax and Data Types
  • The Event Model
  • Introduction to Web Forms
  • DataSets
  • DataTables
  • Querying a Database and Persisting Data
  • LINQ
  • Design Patterns
  • AJAX
  • Entity Framework

There will be a project to go along with it so that you are able to apply these topics to something that resembles a real-world application.

For those of you who have working knowledge of ASP.NET, you will notice that I am covering web forms and not MVC. This will come in a later series of posts.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, don’t hesitate to make your voice heard in the comments.
